AWS S3 Setup in Thunai

Overview

Thunai allows you to connect your AWS S3 bucket to sync files directly into the Thunai Brain and Meeting Assistant feeds. This integration helps ensure that your documents and resources are always available and searchable for AI-powered collaboration and meeting assistance.

  • Meeting Preparation: Keep your Meeting Assistant updated with the latest reports, proposals, and insights from your S3 storage.
  • Automated Syncing: Use the periodic sync feature to keep your content fresh and relevant without manual uploads.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Login to Thunai and Navigate to AWS S3

  1. Open the Thunai application.
  2. From the main menu, select “AWS S3”.
  3. Click the “Connect” button.


Step 2: Create an IAM User in AWS

Follow these steps to create an IAM user with programmatic and/or console access:

1: Sign in to AWS Management Console

2: Navigate to IAM Service

  • In the top search bar, type IAM and select IAM (Identity and Access Management).

3: Create User

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Users.
  2. Click the "Add users" button.

4: Set User Details

  • User name: Enter a descriptive user name (e.g., thunai-admin ).

    Access type:

    • Check Programmatic access (for CLI, SDK).
    • Check AWS Management Console access if the user needs to log in to the console.
  • Set a password (auto-generated or custom) if enabling console access.
  • (Optional) Require password reset on first login.

5: Set Permissions

Choose one of the following:

  • Add user to group: Select a predefined IAM group.
  • Attach policies directly: Choose existing IAM policies like AdministratorAccess or AmazonS3ReadOnlyAccess .
  • Copy permissions from existing user.
  • Attach custom policy (for advanced access control).

6: Tags (Optional)

  • Add key-value tags to organize your IAM users (e.g., Project: Thunai , Env: Prod ).

7: Review and Create

  • Review all settings.
  • Click Create user.

8: Save Credentials

  • After creation, download or securely store:
    • Access Key ID
    • Secret Access Key
    • Console login link (if enabled)

Note: You will not be able to view the secret key again. Download the .csv or save the credentials securely.


Step 3: Provide AWS S3 Details

Enter the required credentials:

  • AWS Access Key
  • AWS Secret Key
  • AWS Bucket Name
  • AWS Region

Ensure the credentials have the necessary permissions to read from the specified S3 bucket.


Step 3: Connection Established

Once the details are validated, your AWS S3 bucket will be successfully connected to Thunai.


Step 4: Enable File Sync

Activate the periodic sync feature to automatically pull documents from the S3 bucket into:

  • Thunai Brain for knowledge retrieval.
  • Meeting Assistant for contextual prep and insights.
